Migrated to New Hosting Plan and Gallery Images Missing

Post by mirth »

Good Day Everyone:

I've just moved from an older GoDaddy web hosting service to the newer GoDaddy cPanel Hosting Service. I am running Joomla 3.6.2 and am working on the 3.6.3 upgrade now. Within Joomla, I'm running Phoca Gallery 4.3.1.

We migrated all successfully, however, I've noticed that our fairly large gallery (several years worth of folders and images) are suddenly mostly missing. There are a few folders that still remain, and even a few photos that still remain, but the majority are not showing in the website looking at the gallery.

I've confirmed that the physical files for the images are all still in the folder structure. I've confirmed that the files are all using an appropriate permission level (folders at 755, and pictures at 644). I've confirmed-- by looking directly into the tables-- that the Phoca Gallery still has entries for each of the photos.

I'm at a loss as to why the gallery would not be showing all the folders and their related images.

Is there a way to get Phoca Gallery to "reindex" or "confirm" images?

If any of the experts here would be able to help point me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful!

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Regards,

Jonathan

I have solved this issue and will document it here in case anyone else has the same problem.

For some reason, after copying the site from the original server to the new server, everything was working fine except that the categories and images were not showing up for 99% of the content of the gallery.

Upon a more detailed review of the few categories and images that continued to work and comparing them to the ones that didn't show up, it was the "ACCESS RIGHTS" that was set to "REGISTERED USERS" which required someone to log into the site to see the content. That wasn't the intended purpose. Changing the "ACCESS" option to "PUBLIC" and then setting the "ACCESS RIGHTS" to "NOBODY" immediately caused the categories and images to reappear on the site for someone who isn't logged in.

Took a while to identify this, but that seemed to work for my site!
