Something I constantly struggle with so I apologise if this is super simple (hence why it's not mentioned in the manual).
I created a gallery for my Joomla site with 2 years of images in folders with event titles.
However I now want to break that gallery down into individual years making it easy to select a particular year to view.
So I created a category 2016, 2017 and 2018. I then set the image folder parent category according to those years.
However the images are still all displaying, as they did before I changed anything.
So I then created sub-menu's for each year on the site with the parent menu 'Gallery'. Each year opens the same set of all picture folders as before.
I don't get this ordering at all.
I have to assume the individual years will need to be set somehow in Phoca but cannot see how.
Or do I have to start from scratch again?
Sorry for bad summary I am useless at computer stuff but don't like to be beaten. Help please!

Re: Ordering problem
Hi,
Example:
You have created two categories 'A' and 'B'
Now you have created two more categories '1' and '2'
'1' should be the parent category for 'A' and '2' should be the parent category of 'B'.
Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Categories --> choose Category A --> Category: [ Edit ] -->
and set: Parent Category=1
Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Categories --> choose Category B --> Category: [ Edit ] -->
and set: Parent Category=2
Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Categories --> choose Category 1 --> Category: [ Edit ] -->
and set: Parent Category=(No parent)Select Categorie
Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Categories --> choose Category 2 --> Category: [ Edit ] -->
and set: Parent Category=(No parent)Select Categorie
Save & Close
Now the images of categorie 'A' should only be visible in: '1'-->'A'
And the images of categorie 'B' should only be visible in: '2'-->'B'
Kind regards,
Benno

Re: Ordering problem
Just checked and that is exactly what I have done. Very pleased with myself so far :)
The problem is that when I open the gallery all the categories are on show like before, rather than a box saying 2016 and one titled 2017.
What am I missing please?
