Re: The structure of the main menu.

Hi,
Here's what I noticed, as soon as I turn off the "Enable Masonry Layout" to the no position, the category pictures appear.
That's right! You cannot use Masonry because you are using subcategories, and if you read the description of this parameter you will see that subcategories cannot be displayed with 'Enable Masonry Layout=Yes'
Enable or disable Masonry layout for Category View. Be aware, you need to choose the right theme (e.g. theme Simple) to display Masonry layout properly. Some parameters will be automatically disabled for Masonry layout (e.g. Display Back Button, Display Subcategories On Each Page, etc.).

Kind regards,
Benno

how then can photos from subcategories be placed in your program in the "Enable masonry marking=Yes" mode
categories and subcategories suit me how they are displayed, but photos from categories really need to look in real proportions with the "Enable masonry marking=Yes" mode.

It's a pity, it doesn't turn out very nicely. For photographers, the actual proportions of their work, which are divided into subcategories, are very important. If this feature were in the program, you could safely call the component the best gallery for Joomla.I've tried all the galleries, yours is the closest to the best. Can there be a setting in the future

Hi,
Can there be a setting in the future?
I can't say anything about that, because I'm not the programmer.

What do you mean with:
For photographers, the actual proportions of their work, [...], are very important.
Do you mean portrait and landscape orientation of the pictures? If so, you can change things in the thumbnail creation settings.

Yes, I mean "portrait" and "landscape" orientation of the pictures.
It is very important that the "portrait" orientation is not cropped. The settings change the thumbnail creation options, but the vertical ones will still be cropped. And if it were possible to display "Enable masonry marking=Yes" for photos from subcategories, then everything would be fine.

It's just that your programmers attributed the subcategory settings to the images. If the category settings were combined with subcategories, and the images were made "Enable masonry marking=Yes", the issue would be resolved. And it would be the best solution among all Joomla galleries.

Hi,
This allows portrait images and landscape images to be displayed next to each other without Masonry:
1) Do not use the Masonry function, because then the subcategories will not be displayed.
2) Set Crop Thumbnails=None
3) Set the same value for the height and width of the thumbnails. (It is then the height of the portrait images and the width of the landscape images)
Nothing will be cropped or stretched.
4) Compare the other values of the screenshot with yours and adjust them if necessary.
5) If you want to insert a watermark, you must create it beforehand.
6) Save everything and create the thumbnails again.

Benno, thank you personally for your patience. You helped me solve the problem with the correct display of the gallery.
It remains, as I understand it, to manually sort the photos "portrait" and "landscape" orientation in the gallery itself so that they match more or less well.
