Problem displaying categories and images

Is there a step by step instruction to help me with installing Phoca Gallery correctly? I have loaded several categories and a few images so far, but on my front end website I only see 2 categories and no images. What am I doing wrong or not doing right?

did you create a menu link to Phoca Gallery Component (List of Categories) ?

I thought I did. I'd like to send you a screen shot but I don't think it's possible. I went to Main Menu and chose Gallery which is what I named my Phoca Gallery. There was no Phoca on the list of Menu items. Then I chose Select: List of categories (category view) from the drop-down. Did not find a place to change component settings like the instructions said to do. That's all I've done. So I have 2 categories showing with a few images that I loaded. So far I have loaded 5 categories but am showing only 2.

Settings in the menu link are no longer supported since J1.6
Now you find the Options here:
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options (Upper right corner)

Thank you, Benno. That was very helpful information. Once I get the gallery to display, I will need it.
First of all, I need to know what is causing some of my categories not to show up on my website.

This is a shot of what my Phoca Gallery looks like in the administrator's end. And another shot showing what is visible on the actual website. Only 2 are showing but I have loaded 7 categories in Phoca. I need to find out why the 5 categories are not loading right.

Hi,
Do the missing categories contain images? If not, it could be related to a setting in the Phoca Gallery Options.
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Categories View
--> Display Empty Categories=Yes
Save & Close
BTW: As far as I can see you still use Joomla! v2.5.28
Since I don't have any Joomla! v2.5 test environment for security reasons, my recommendations maybe not 100% right. (because I can not test it)

Well, you asked the right question! It wasn't working because I had not put any images in the other categories! I guess I thought the category would be there even if there were no images in it. It's working now and I thank you for you patience and help.
