Image not loading

Hi,
As the website was hacked I have reinstalled a clean Joomla 3.8.7 en decided to upload the latest version of Phoca gallery. I made new categories and uploaded the images into those categories. Everything seems smooth but for a strange reason some of the categories have just 2 or 3 pictures instead of the 20 I uploaded. The rest of the images are showing in the frontend in white and after clicking on it, it says "image not loading"
I have search in this forum and did all the things people recommended such as the thumbnail generation enabled and subcategories views. I just don't get it.
I can see all the pictures in the backend, also I can see the thumb folders in FileZilla. I have regenerated all the images. Some of them just shows when I refresh the website than they are gone again.

I cannot get the text into the block but p.e. the right block gives a lot of categories/years. P.e. year 2010: https://www.kleinmerneugter.nl/foto-s/c ... renblazers as you can see a lot of images aren't displaying but they are in the backend. I uploaded 76 pictures.
If I go into the backend, go to images and to this folder, it starts again by recreating the thumbnails over and over again.
What setting is wrong?

Hi,
You have two options:
If you're comfortable with the category view, as it is now, you can set the 'Additional Thumbnails' parameter in the backend to 'No'. Then delete all thumbnails via FTP and recreate them.
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Thumbnails --> Additional Thumbnails=No

Or, you set the parameter 'Create additional thumbnails' to 'All' and also the _l1_ will be created which are missing now (therefore the error message).
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Thumbnails --> Additional Thumbnails=All

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately it did not help.
I have removed manually all the thumbnails folders from the photo gallery. I had to recreate them as it did not do it automatically.
For some reasons not all pictures are showing. Actually, it is still the same as it was before doing this.

Option 2 I had already put the options like that. So that did not do the trick.

Just an adding:
The bad part is that when login back in, the recreation of the thumbnails starts over and over again of the folder that is open. The rest of the folders/categories, I cannot tell photo, recreate all, that it won't do. So I have to find a folder and click on the button recreate.
Also this: Presume I uploaded 10 pictures, the thumbnails should be counting 10. But login 3 times in, the thumbnails are now in that folder 30. etc etc.

Yes, that is true. That categorie folder is working for now but other folders are not showing their pictures p.e. https://www.kleinmerneugter.nl/foto-s/c ... e-festival

Tomorrow other folders will be empty I presume.
In the backend I can see the pictures nicely.

And why does photo gallery constantly recreates thumbnails every time I log into the backend?
And why are the thumbnail folders "growing" instead of p.e. 40 thumbnails, today 80 or maybe 120 thumbnails because poca gallery is constantly recreating those thumbnails.

It seems, that you have choosen option two of my fist post:
'Create All additional thumbnails'
That means for every single original image following thumbnails must be created:
_s_
_s1_
_s2_
_s3_
_m_
_m1_
_m2_
_m3_
_l_
_l1_
To create 10 thumbnails from every single image can take some time. Depends on settings and potenz of your server and the count of images. Also seeking for images with wrong path or simply seeking for missing images can take (long) time...
