Miniatures not in line

Post by Adjudant »

I installed Phoca Gallery in my Joomla! 3..8.13 website. It works fine. However the second line of miniatures is not in line vertically.
See the screendump.

How do I fix that?

Regards, Peter.

Hi,
Your screenshot shows 4 square thumbnails and two non-square thumbnails. Did you change the setting: "Crop Thumbnails"?

Kind regards,
Benno

Hi Benno,
Thanks for your reaction. No, I didn't change the cropping; I even don't know where I should have done that...
The thumbnails you see are avatars. Is there a method to set the size of these avatars?

Hi,
I even don't know where I should have done that...
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Thumbnails --> Thumbnail Generation Settings --> Crop Thumbnails=Yes/No
Save & Close
Is there a method to set the size of these avatars?
Avatars are generated by Phoca Gallery the same way as images. That is, when uploading an image usually three different sized thumbnails are generated. The medium thumbnail is usually displayed as avatar in categories view in front end. The size you can set here: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Thumbnails --> Images And Detail Window Size Settings -->
Medium Image Width=(Set new size)
Medium Image Height=(Set new size)
Save & Close

'Enable Thumbnails Generation' parameter must be set to 'Yes' and wrong sized thumbnails should be deleted or better only renamed (for testing) After that you can recreate the thumbs with new size or cropped/non-cropped.

Kind regards,
Benno

Thanks Benno! Because I use the Dutch translation I couldn't find the term 'crop', but I have found the setting of the thumbnails (miniaturen in Dutch), so I'll try to set the proper dimensions.

@Benno
I've set the dimensions and deleted wrong avatars. Then a new avatar was uploaded and it looks well.
However the strange margin on the website is still there...??

Hi,
Christine and I suspect that you use the Legacy Settings for Categories View.
Can you please post the complete settings of this?
Backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Categories View --> Categories View Settings
--> Categories View - Legacy Settings -->
Displaying Style=?
Equal Percentage Column Width=?
Box Width=?
Number of Columns=?

Perhaps you should switch to normal Categories View, because Legacy Settings are not responsive and unfortunately not very good to style via css.... :(

Kind regards,
Benno

Yes, indeed I used these settings. Now I have turned it off. And it gives a better view!

Thanks for your help and explanations. Problem solved!
