Some images show in backend but not in front

I've got a situation where all images are showing properly in the backend of the site, but only some are showing in the frontend, others are showing as a broken image. I've had GD Library reinstalled on the server, I've deleted the images and reuploaded them, I've tried to recreate the thumbnails. Checked that both Pagination Thumbnail Generation and Enable Thumbnails Generation are turned on. Joomla 3.9.26, Phoca Gallery 4.4.2, PHP 7.3.27. Another thing that I've noticed are on the ones that show, the thumbnail link is /thumbs/phoca_thumb_I_file-name and the ones that dont are generated with a link of /thumbs/phoca_thumb_I1_file-name. So why the extra "1" in the link?
