Hello,
I was doing some kind of housework inside my categories and I noticed something odd ...
I have 17 categories all in all. Most of them are populated with many files.
But, in the component (admin console) when I go in the File view the dropdown menu (categories) - which allows to make a more precise search - only features some of them. I checked out to see if it was connected to the fact that some categories were unpublished, but that's not the case. Which means I have some categories which are published, which contain some files, but when I access the dropdown menu, these categories are missing ...
I must surely have missed out something but what ??
Thansk for your help.
Fabio

Re: Missing categories in dropdown menu ?
Hello !
Ok so I've tried to pinpoint the missing categories in the files/categories dropdown menu and in fact, the missing categories are the ones which are unpublished (so in my previous posts, I went too fast !!). So, basically, it means that it is not possible to search files using the "categories" search tool when a category is not published, right ? A bit strange if that is the case as sometimes we might need to look for a file that might belong to an unpublished category, no ?
Thansk for your answer !

Hi, yes, for now, unpublished categories are not displayed in the list.
I have added it to feature request list - to list categories in backend even they are not published.
