No category can be selected in menus or when creating them on Joomla 5

This happens on Joomla 5.0 with php 8.1, under the administration user, with Phoca Download 4.0.7:

- when trying to create a subcategory, nothing gets displayed (Firefox 115.3.0esr on Debian 12) for a parent; this happens despite that there are tons of categories created, available as parents, on a new or existing category;

- when trying to link a category to a menu, again - nothing gets displayed in backend. Both for an existing menu entry or a new one.

Please see the screenshots. It seems there is a bug regarding categories, can anyone else confirm this?

For me is... well.. I need an urgent fix for these if anyone can take an interest in the matter. For the first one, I managed to reorganize categories by moving them via batch. No idea what to do about the menus so I am stuck... And I never encountered this problem in any of the Phoca extensions.

As usual, as soon as I post I find the answers...
So, nevermind: Phoca Download was updated when upgraded to Joomla 5.0 but of course not to a compatible version. As soon as I installed the com_phocadownload_v5.0.0Beta2.zip the categories started to appear.
