Hi,
I'm planning to migrate my joomla sites from J2.5 to J3
I have read the following:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca/ ... o-joomla-3
But it seems to explain how to migrate from one 2.5 site to another 3.x site. Can it really be true I have to export/import files and database-data to upgrade an existing site from 2.5 -> 3?
Will I not be able to just disable phoca components or something and install the v3 when joomla 3.x is installed. Why isn't these components v2.5 and v3 compatible like many other components out there?
All the best and thanks for some great components,
Kris

Re: 2.5.xx to 3.x.xx migration
Hi, not sure how different migration procedures work, but I think, migration in comparing to update should do new instance, which should be tested before it will replace the old one
So in case, you do it on your current site, you just export the data (save the SQL queries somewhere, save the files and folders somewhere), delete the Phoca tables in database, delete the files and folders and then make new install of Phoca Component (upload the images and thumbnail and run the sql queries)
