download stopped working

Post by jezek.jakub »

Hi,

I've migrated my joomla to new folder and updated joomla from 3.3.0 to 3.4.0. After that It's not possible to download any file, beacause of network error while downolading (in Chrome) and This page can’t be displayed (in IE 11).

I've checked FTP rights, then deleted all files and categories and then I've allways had the same problem. Finally I've uninstall and install whole Phoca download Component and no progress :(

Do you have some idea, how to fix that problem?

Here is URL to one of the categories, it behaves the same on all files: http://ddtmavydul.cz/index.php/ke-staze ... 5-pozvanky

Thanks for an any help. Jakub

Hi, it says that the source cannot be read, so there can be two problems:

- permissions or ownership to read the files
- but I think, this will be incorrect path - try to reset the files in the file edit, maybe the path is for the files on the server is wrong

This just started happening to me too. It was working great for at least a year then it stopped working for some reason.

I checked the adwords code but nothing has changed.

So, maybe you need to find out which changes there were on the server

Hi Jan,

thanks for your tips.

I found a new thing. If I go directly to the file via http, then I can view and download it as you can see here: http://ddtmavydul.cz/phocadownload/ke_s ... zprava.pdf

But link to the file at user side of phoca download has the following format: /index.php/ke-stazeni/category/10-vyroc ... cni-zprava

What do you think, isn't there some problem with that link shortcut? Is it possible to set it up to full path format, or can I let recreate somehow these shortcuts?

I just tried to set the path again in file edit, but nothing and URL suffix "ke_stazeni/Vyrocni_zpravy/2004-Rocni_zprava.pdf" above is copied from edit file page.

Thanks a lot, Jakub.

@Grice2011: Have you made an upgrade to joomla 4.2.0 or 4.2.1?

FTP rights for this file is 777 and owner is same like in other folders (

Hi, when I test it, I get the following error:
D+m+tpfn.pdf.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

This seems like the server somehow try to server parts of the files, but why it does, really no idea?

Do you get the problem with other mime types?
