"Blog" type of view

Hello,

I'm using Phoca Download on my website.
I would like to know if there's a way to present ALL the files a certain user is able to download on a single page. Kind of the blog layout used for articles.
As different user have access to different files this will be an easy way to show available files for download without having to go to every category/subcategory allowed. It would also be nice if there would be a way to hide categories/subcategories an user is not allowed to (right now it shows the category and after you click on it, it informs that they don't have permission).

Hi, for now, there is categories, category and file view, not specific user view (filtered by user acces rights) so this view needs to be customized

Did you set the access rights for categories too? Not only for files?

Thanks for the quick reply. The access rights were set by categories too.
Let me explain how I have it set up:

For the time being, I'm using Joomla's standard access rights (Registered in this case). I undestand that maybe I should create additional access rights but I would like to keep this to a minimum.
-All the categories have Registered access rights but also defined specific users to be allowed in that category.
-Files have also Registered access rights (there's not option to define specific users)

I'm use to seeing HTML/CSS/PHP code but I'm not quite sure how can I create a custom view (Joomla newbie). Can you give some advice?

Hi, this guide is about customizing the layout (some information is obsolete) but I think, you need to create completely new view - you can copy it from category view - but you need to change the model - to load the items specified by filters (for specific users) and then the view - but this is not so easy and for this the guides from Joomla! need to be learned
