com-phocamaps-info shown in menu-link

Post by Trompetteur »

Hi,

I've got a problem with a contact page: http://www.deheivenray.nl/com-phocamaps ... tformulier

As you can see in the URL is '/com-phocamaps-info' shown, how does it appear there?

The alias of the menu item is 'contactformulier'. It's parent (menu-item 'Contact' with alias 'contact') is a menu-alias to contactformulier. On the page for contactformulier we see a contact person and below the form a custom HTML module where I use the Phoca Maps plugin to show a map.

When I rebuild the menu, the '/com-phocamaps-info' is gone, but after some minutes it appears again.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, really no idea, the plugin not component does not have any tool to change the alias, the alias is made in menu link, not in the component or plugin - both cannot create or change alias or whole URL  so try to recheck the alias of the menu link

I checked the alias many times, but there is no problem there.

I've seen the problem on more sites: There must be something that generates this crazy URLs...

Hi, yes, this is really weird and as I wrote the component or plugin cannot change the link.

And I have no idea if there is a way for component or plugin to change the URL.

I have checked all the code of component and plugin to find this string or part of this string and didn't find anything, didn't find any method which somehow can change the URL.

The URL is created by menu link and the only one who can change if somehow is system plugin. Please try to see your system plugins and try to disable them (the active) to know if there can be a problem.

What is the URL when SEF disabled?

If I see the links above, I see that these are views of Phoca Maps administration:

com-phocamaps-info - Info view of Phoca Maps (administration)
com-phocamaps-icons - Icons view of Phoca Maps (administration)

But really no idea which part can use these views to add them to frontend URL and why? :-(

Has this been figured out? I am having the same problem. Weird thing is that I even uninstalled Phocamaps and still have the problem??

For me, the problem occurs when I am on a page that is connected to a secondary menu not the main menu

I noticed on one site that this happened when I had an article with the same alias as a menu item. After changing the article alias, the issue seemed to go away. Hopefully this will help others or help track the issue.
