Plugin triggers counter when page loading

Hi

I recently put a phocadownlaod document via the content plugin on my front page (Link to File). Within some days I had 30000 downloads - which simply is not possible, the document is not that important.

My suspicion is that each time the front page is loaded a hit count is triggerd. The number would suggest that. Is this possible? And if so, how can it be fixed?

Hi Christine

Yes, I'm using the PD component as well. Some documents can only be downloaded through the component. The counters there look much more reasonable.
The may download setting is on 0.

Hi Lorenz,

The may download setting is on 0.

Set maximum count of files user can download. Be aware, 0 (Zero) means, there is no limit. It is limit per file NOT for all downloads. If you set some limit here, anonymous users (guests) are not able to download any file.
