Bug: Redirecting a deleted category not possiböle

Hello,

we have deleted a download category in PhocaDownload - now if someone follows the old URL the message 'You have no permission to view this category' is shown. Obviously the message is wrong as the category does not exist at all.

Expected behaviour would be that a 404 is shown , alternatively if a redirect is set in the Joomla redirection component it should follow the redirect to the new location.

Any ideas how this could be resolved?

Hi, the Phoca Download gets some requirement to get some category - if there is no such category or it is not accessible, it displays common error message (it does not differentiate between: category does not exists, or category it not accessible because of security reasons)

There is no record in Joomla! that the category existed and now it does not exists, so it is not possible to display specific message as the system does not know such category existed, it only knows - such category does not exist yet or it is not accessible.

So maybe some htaccess rule can help to differentiate. I think, changing this message in Phoca Download will not help as then it will be valid for not existing categories and not accessible categories like for categories which do not exist anymore
