very basic question

I am new to components for document management, so there is a very simple basic question that arose after installation of Phoca Download v_3.1.2.
I need something similar because I'd like to have some documents accessible only to registered users, but before arriving to this I have a more basic problem.

I created a category Innovazione ad uploaded a file MasterInnovazione.pdf assignign it the Innovazione category. The status of both of them was set to published. The access is public.

The very simple question to which I'm not able to find an answer is: where are they supposed to be published ? I ask because I don't see them anywhere in the front end part of the site and I'm not able to find a position to assign them in order to be displayed somewhere.

Sorry, but this is the first time I try to use a document management system, so everithing seems complex.

Hi, the publishing of them is the same like in Joomla! - you need to create a menu link to Phoca Download - in menu manager.

Like by articles:
1) you create an article
2) you create a menu link to this article

1) you create category and files
2) then you create a menu link to the download component
