I changed the entry in the .php-File and there is no warning message anymore. But I don't see the Pictures either.

Hi, yes, you can hide the message, but this still don't say why the categories were not loaded from database.

Are the categories public, published?

Debug mode - did you enable debug mode in Joomla! Global Configuration - it does not render warnings like php reporting, it should display database error.

Hi Jan,

thanks for your reply.
What I did: I changed the value in the .php-file like recommended by Christine. After that, the initial warning message that made me open this thread does not appear anymore. Besides the entry in the .php-file I did not change anything. Afterwards I switched on debugging under Joomla! Configuration and when you open the website now, you can see the debug information at the bottom of the site. Within that debug information there are some warnings in the database section, but I don't really know how to use them.

The categories are public now, they have been for registered users. But at the behaviour of the Website nothing changed.

Hi, you can disable the debug, seems like, there is no error message.

When the categories are public and authorized, do you still get the error message (when you enable it back again)?

thanks a lot for your help, it does work now. The category is shown, but not accessible. I'll figure out what's the Problem there, but I would say it is alright now.
