Connection was reset when downloading files

hi All
first time on the forums, long time user of phoca.
when i try to download files with phoca download from the front end, i keep getting this error

it seems something weird with regards to the file path, example below:
http://10.1.1.12/intranet/index.php/for ... ozipo-loan
The above link results in a connection was reset in firefox.

I've enabled logging on phoca download and no errors appear.
when i test the link to the file directly, as in http://10.1.1.12/intranet/phocadownload/wozipo-loan.pdf, this works perfectly fine.

I'm running Phoca Download version 3.1.2
PHP 5.6.26
Joomla! 3.2.7 Stable

J 3.2.7 ist old (2014). You missed also many fix bug releases and security releases.

Current version of Joomla is: 3.6.3. Today a very important security release is planned (J 3.6.4).

Update Path: 3.6.3
To prevent the security issue fixed in 3.6.2, you will see the re-login screen (see image above), the control panel login and again the re-login screen (see image above). Because we need to destroy the session from an older security fix, you will need to re-login three times.

Thanks Christine, i've just updated and am now on 3.6.3. Should i reinstall Phoca Download?

you could try it We don't know the exact error message.
In the meantime, a very important security fix has been released: J 3.6.4!
