Setting "Direct Link" no longer working

Post by wwebster1999 »

Hello,

I am not sure if any of you noticed this recently, but ever since the last update or two from Joomla, Phoca Download is not quite doing what it supposed to do.

As you may have seen, each file in the back-end has the setting "direct link", meaning that if you switch this on (and save your file again), click on the file at the front, the file will instantly download. This is a very handy feature, I think.

But since recently, the direct link feature no longer works, and when clicking on the file for downloading, it just takes me to the separate file page, where you click on the download button, and it downloads. Like it does, when you don't have the "Direct link" switched on.

And the thing is, I have several Joomla websites, and it does it on all the websites! Which makes me think it is not an influence of a third-party extension, rather a Joomla Core/Phoca Download conflict somewhere.

Has anyone else this kind of problem? Or better still, has anyone found a solution for this? I thank you in advance for your help.

Kindest regards,

Wendy

Hi, the direct link goes directly to some place, and maybe there server changed the rules. If it does not directly download, the means that external server changed the rules and lists e.g. list of files instead of accessing the download directly.

Can you let me know the link where this occurs?
