"Article" title on Phoca Map Page

Post by adamsr2 »

I want to have a link in an article to a Phoca Map. I use the following code to link: <a title="Map" href="index.php?option=com_phocamaps&amp;view=map&amp;id=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Map It works, I get the map OK. But on the map page there is a "headline" that says "Article" above the map. How do I get the word, "Article" gone?

Joomla! 3.81, Beez3 template, Phoca Map 3.0.4, Windows 10. Website is [not accessible] (my apologies, you may not be able to see it outside of the US).

Hi, I cannot access the website, so just paste a screenshot of what you exactly mean?

Thanks for answering. I'm sorry, I can't figure out how to disable Site Lock's block on suffix's. Here is the code on the page that "sends" the user to the page that has "Article" (that I want gone). <p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Need Directions?   <a title="Map" href="index.php?option=com_phocamaps&amp;view=map&amp;id=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Map </a></span><img src="images/BCHi1420SBadour.JPG" alt="" /></p>
<p><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size: 18pt;">March 11, 2018, 3:00PM       Bullock Creek High School</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: 18pt;">May 6, 2018, 3:00pm           Bullock Creek High School</span></p>Image

I'd like to send you a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to insert it in my post. If I click on the "Image button" all I get is: Image

Hi adamsr2,

screenshot e.g. with: imgur.com or other.

Do you mean the word: "article" or "articles"? Try following:

Articles:
Go to /Extensions /Language Manager /Overrides
Click "New"
Enter "JGLOBAL_ARTICLES" (without the quote marks) for the "Language Constant."
Leave the "Text" blank (= on the left side).
Save your override.

Article:
same procedure as above, but for: COM_CONTENT_CONTENT_TYPE_ARTICLE.

You could also search for: "Value", then you will get a list of all strings included the word "article" or "articles".

Kind regards, Christine

Thanks! I'm digesting what you sent me. Now that you taught me about imgur.com, I posted the picture there. It is https://imgur.com/a/98Cew I also have a tag: phocamaps. Hope you can find it.

I tried going to overrides. I put in JGLOBAL_ARTICLES because it was Articles. I saved the override. I refreshed the page in preview. "Articles" was still there. Now at least you have a picture.

Actually it's solved! thanks. I re-tried : Go to /Extensions /Language Manager /Overrides
Click "New"
Enter "JGLOBAL_ARTICLES" (without the quote marks) for the "Language Constant."
Leave the "Text" blank (= on the left side).
Save your override.

It worked. Must have done it wrong the first time. Thanks again!!!

just now, I wanted to write in addition:

a) Content > Articles > Options > Show Titel or Hide, but this belongs to:
These settings apply for article layouts unless they are changed for a specific menu item.
means:
b) Menus > Your menu > Page Display > Show Page Heading > either: Use Global (Yes) or: Yes or: No (depens on global settings, see above).

c) OK, finally it worked with language override. :) Above information could be also useful (if needed).

Thank you for your information & kind regards, Christine
