Cannot Create Map

Hi,
I am new to Phoca Maps and I am having difficulty creating a new map. I have followed the (simple) instructions Maps > New > Set Coordinates.
If I simply click on the button I get a millisecond view of a map and then: -

"Sorry! Something went wrong. This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details."

If I manually enter Lat and Long I again get a brief very view of the map (correct location) and the JavaScript error message.
I am running Joomla 3.8.4, Phoca Maps 3.04 and have valid Google APIs

I have tried to view a map from a menu item and also using the plugin via an article. No success.

I have used Google Maps for many years but the extension has been discontinued by Joomla due to vulnerabilities, so I downloaded Phoca Maps to replace (being a keen fan of Phoca Gallery!)

I think you mean from tech reumer - know about this .....

Since ca. 2015, google maps needs an API Key. So, you should go through this: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/53-phoca ... ps-api-key

You have to active for all 3 APIs:

Google Maps JavaScript API - to display the map
Google Maps Geocoding API - to set coordinates by address
Google Maps Directions API - to display route in the map

Key: Copy it and paste it to Phoca Maps Options. Store the options. Now the map should be displayed in administration and in frontend.

Original effort using tech reumer app is via Costal Map menu. I have another attempt using a module at bottom of location page. Nothing works with Phoca

there ist still tech reumer. Your plugin is an old one > version: googlemap2 > therefore javascript errors due invalid version of your google map.

yes, it belongs to version 3.5: https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... by-reumer/

Don't know, what you mean with: "module at bottom .... "

There is no (at the present time) Phoca Map installed/loaded etc.

You should de-install the old map and then starting new with Phoca Map.

Hi Christine,
Have deleted old plugin and enabled new V3. I also had a spurious key reference in the Phoca back end!! So - map now created perfectly.
Will still plough on making mistakes - but thanks very much!

you had an old Plugin version (as mentioned before) and now you made update to plugin version 3.3.
But I wrote, you should complete de-install the reumer plugin.

It's still under menue: /coast-map

I also had a spurious key reference in the Phoca back end!! So - map now created perfectly.Will still plough on making mistakes -

Phoca Map is under menu: /map-of-the-coast
