Map showing in popup, but grey box in content

Hi,
When I use the code {phocamaps view=map|id=1} in an article on my web site, then only a grey box appears in place of the map.
But when I use the short code {phocamaps view=link|id=1|text=Show Map}, then a link to the map appears, and it displays nicely in a popup.
Why the difference?
Can you help me find where I am missing it?

Hi, which version of component and which version of plugin do you run?

Thank you for your help - updating the plugin to the latest version solved it (the component was already updated)
