Maybe enabling QuickView in settings may help...

your problem description is quite vage...maybe you should elaborate your problem bit better...

Hi, I don't exactly understand what the problem is. The "choose variant" button is displayed automatically in case, the product cannot be added to cart, because there is some required attribute, which must be selected first. So there are possible solutions:
- disable the requirement of the attribute
- or display the attributes on category/items (product list) view.
