phoca download 3.1.4

To whom it may concern:
I have been using com_phocadownload version 3.1.2, I am going to use the last version: 3.1.4
I downloaded the zip file, could I just upload it to joomla site on top of the older version? or is there an update package ?

Hi,
no, there is no update package. Download the current Phoca Download zip package and install it via Joomla installation routine. To be sure make a backup of your site before, but nothing will be lost during the upgrade.

It is updated now and it is working
One more thing,
Both before and after update, on download a file from my site, the page will be redirected to a blank page, the file is downloaded and usable but I want the source pace not to be redirected to a blank page, it was not this way before, after one of joomla's update this happened with phocadownload, is there a setting I have to change?(I also checked direct link without checking this option the downloaded file is not usable but it still leaves the download web page toward a blank page)

I already did that via setting joomla error report to max, also nothing in error log, when a user downloads a file on my site, instead of remaining on the same page, it is redirected to another page, I also went through the core files of phocadownload and I found the if-else logic for remaining on the same page or leaving that page, yet I believe this is a setting to be controlled from phocadownload backend rather than its core files, this started to be happened after an update of joomla
