caching

Post by jrjr »

When I set caching to progressive in Joomla global configuration and then add a product to my cart, the cart does not show the product until I refresh a couple times or navigate to another page when ajax with popup is enabled. I down graded it to conservative caching and it seems to be ok at this setting.
Is this a know issue?
Joomla 3.9.1

Hi, I think, this is much more a question on Joomla! core developers who are developing this cache method.

Do you use Ajax or standard method when adding items to the cart?

Phoca Cart uses standard Joomla! MVC - which means standard displaying of views (which can be overriden by template outputs) including using standard Joomla! AJAX methods, so really hard to say what could be a problem there

I have it set to standard for add to cart. Seems ok with just Ajax. With Ajax with pop up option the pop up fills 90% of the entire screen of my 24" monitor with the white pop up and doesn't look great.. I have seen demos where the pop up is sized smaller, maybe 400x250 or so. Its just the smaller box with the X in it.
It does function correctly other than being too large though

This is ajax with pop up window

Hi, this is mostly caused by loading obsolete Bootstrap library (or loaded it more than once)

Try to download and install Phoca Upgrade plugin:
https://www.phoca.cz/phoca-upgrade-system-plugin
and disable loading of obsolete Bootstap:

When you template loads Bootstrap 3, then disable loading of Bootstrap 3 in Phoca Cart options.

Sorry, that didn't work. Still get the large window on ajax with pop up add to cart like I did before installing and enabling the plug in, plus my accordeon menu and slide show stops working. It was set to Beez template and I also tried protostar, which is what I am using. (Force Template (Template))

Did you test it with some template which supports Bootstrap 3:

I have no idea what supports bootstrap 3. Does beez support it?
Edit
I installed this template

The add to cart ajax works right now but TOS still isn't working.... still playing with it

That template hasn't worked out, back to protostar for now

I installed the Helix3 template which uses bootstrap3. Terms of service now opens correctly but Add to cart isn't right. When I add to cart the dark screen overlay shows up but no ajax add to cart box. Also the category and item descriptions do not display. I rather like this template and would like to get it all working.

Well, I installed Phoca Premiere. Add to cart pop up isn't right and TOS doesn't work in this template either. I also don't see how to add an image for page background......

Hi, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocacartdemo/premiere/

When you add items to cart, are you able to see right popup there?

Do you have a link to you website where this occurs?
