In your demo example, it's Masonry effect:

Category View

Display Name: Display
Display Detail Icon: Hide
Display Image Description In Box: Yes (HTML)
Different Thumbnail Height: Yes (Masonry Effect)

Unfortunately answer isn't correct, settings on Phoca Gallery at Phoca Cart Demo (https://www.phoca.cz/phocacartdemo/phoca-gallery) isn't the same as Phoca Gallery at Phoca Joomla! 3 Demo site.

Hope Jan can advice which custom settings are done for category view in Phoca Gallery to achieve such nice result.

sorry, I thought, that you only want to know about the "different" positions/layout etc. of the images. That's why I sent about "Masonry".

Hi, confirmed. As Christine wrote:

- it is Masonry effect in Category view
- Phoca Photography template

What is a different to Phoca and Joomla! 3 is, that the comments are disabled and thumbnail size differs a little bit (but thumbnail size should be set by your needs so it depends on you which size you will set for the thumbnails)
