Not Understanding Open Graph Documentation

I'm completely confused by the documentation for the Open Graph use. On the plugin, it is asking me for an image. Why am I setting this image here? Is it not unique for every article? Or is it asking for something like a variable? Any light shed on this would be great. I have no idea what it is looking for in the plugin.

Hi, you don't need to set any image there. But it can happen, that some articles do not have any images (in content or set as parameters) so you can set image which will represent the articles which do not have any image.

It exaplains which image is taken as first in case there will be more images available for the OG meta tags (e.g. there is one image in article, there is one in article options, there is one in menu link options, etc. etc.)
