in modalbox no slide show buttons but text

Post by whph »

Hi,

I am using the switch (swap) image mode of the plugin. This works. When I click on a thumbnail the modalbox with slide show mode opens, but instead of having contol buttons I have text ("Previous image", "Stop slideshow", "Start slideshow", etc.). And even this text is at the far bottom, a little bit hidden by the frame of the modalbox.

In parameters I have set the height of the modalbox to 600. The pictures itself have a height of 200. So enough space to display the buttons...

I have upgraded to the latest version. In previous versions I did not have this problem.

Another thing: how can you disable the "tooltip" funcionality for the thumbnails; i.e. I don't want this yellow box besides the cursor when hovering over the thumbnails (again I am talking of the plugin's switch (swap) image mode).

Many thanks for helping!

Hi, which yellow box you mean (do you mean the overlib, this can be hidden or displayed and you can set it in parameters)

can I see the site where the problem with buttons occurs?

Hi Jan,

The problem with the text instead of buttons has been solved. The reason was that I changed in the phoca parameters "icon settings"/"icon format" to JPG at some time. But you only provide GIF and PNG buttons and icons in your package. Thus the gallery could not display them.

I suggest that you provide also JPG buttons and icons in your next release to overcome this troublesome and not immediately obvious problem for other users. I would not go the other way and disable the option JPG as an icon format...

Another thing that I noticed, which, probably, can be corrected easily in the CSS file is the following:
When I click on the thumbnails the modal box with the slide show buttons opens. So far so good. When I then click on the "next image" button the whole row of buttons jumps upwards (it seems that they are somehow placed on the UPPER SIDE of the space between the lower border of the picture and the lower border of the modal box). When I then click on the "play" button the whole row jumps downwards again (it seems that they are somehow CENTERED between the lower border of the picture and the lower border of the modal box).

I suggest that you fix the row of buttons 20px (same padding as the image is below the margin-top of the modal box) above the margin-bottom of the modal box.

The TOOLTIP is the description of for example the Smilies in this forum when hovering over them ("laughing", "sad", etc.). In the PLUGINs switch(swap) image functionality: When hovering over the thumbnails the tooltip shows the name of the picture. This is not the case in the component. I don't like this, because usually the names of the pictures aren't "nice", but produced by the digicam (i.e. CMG00236). Could you turn that off, please?!

Last thing: I wanted to use the EMAGUS category presentation. For me it seemed that it was somehow a part of phoca (although designed by EMAGUS). It was not clear, that I needed a special module from extensions.joomla.org.

I suggest that you include a link to this site on your site to make it easier for your users.

Thanks for your truly appreciated work!!! Raphael

Hi, it depends on you which format icon will support your gallery. This parameter is ready for Themes, so if you install Theme with jpg's you will have jpgs

buttons and slideshow: yes, this is known issue, but I didn't find solution yet, which will be OK for all used browser, if I do it and it is ok in FF, Opera, Chrome then it doesn't work for IE e.g. :-(

plugin: I will take a look at it

I am planning to do some list of external Phoca extensions...

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt answer. I think you can set this thread to SOLVED.

re buttons and slideshow:
I had a look at the code now that you told me about the difficulties. I am not very good at it, but I saw a difference between the code when the "play" mode is on and when it is off: in the table the middle <tr> ... </tr> (probably where the description would be displayed) is missing in the case the "play" mode is on. Why not simply change the code to have this middle <tr> ... </tr> also in the "play" mode, but of course without displaying the description?

One more thing: the "padding-top: 10px" should be eliminated, because the whole thing is centered and the user can steer the margins by resizing the modal box window much better.

The code I saw for the modal box, for your reference and to make my words more clear:
<center style="padding-top: 10px;"> //<-- delete the padding!
<table border="0" width="100%">
<tbody>
<tr> </tr>
<tr> </tr> //<-- this is responsible for the "jump"
<tr> </tr>
</tbody>

Maybe that solves the promblem...
