Hi, not sure if I understand what do you exactly mean? Which preview mode do you mean?

I have made a menu for my phoca files.
My phoca files all have a download button and a preview button.
When I click on the preview button, the file is seen in a lightbox, and in this lightbox there it is possibel to both download and to print out. '

If I do not want the user to be able to download but to preveiw, the user can just download in the lightbox

Hi, in fact if user is able to view the file, the file is downloaded by the browser to user's PC. So each file which is previewed by user in browser is in fact downloaded in his/her PC.

The download button is displayed by browser or e.g. PDF viewer.

This is why Phoca Download has two separate places for files - one for download, second for preview. You can set one file to preview - e.g. only table of contents of one PDF file (nut full PDF) and second file to download - full PDF file - e.g. for users who log in.

If you want to protect files from download, they cannot be previewed. This is independent to system or compoent you will use, it is just internet feature - everything what you see in browser is in fact stored in your PC, see:
