Hello,
I have a problem opening a file.
The files download well but no program manages to open them (Google earth, Geoportal).
If I look with PSPad editor, the first line is empty.
If I move the phocadownload file to another directory and do the same, the first line contains instructions.
I've had this problem for several months, but everything was fine before.
I'm on Windows 10, Joomla 3.1.9, phocadownload 3.2.3.

Hi, hmmm, hard to say what can be wrong there. If there is something on server which ads empty line to the start of the file.

When you remove the empty line in editor, are you able to open it?

What happens when you enable PHP error reporting? (In case there is some PHP error, such should be rendered to file and you can read it in editor)

Hi and thanks for the reply.
By deleting the blank line and saving the file, it then opens without a problem.

So this means, that some part of the system adds this line before the rendering the header of the file.

But this is really hard to say which part this can be. Mostly, some debug needs to be done (e.g. to disable all modules and system plugins - to test if this does not come from such parts, etc. )

Hello
I finally found the solution to my problem after many galleys.
In the Phoca extensions, I had three "Phoca Mail". two Files in version 3
and a Component in version 4, after deactivating it, everything works fine!!!!
So I disabled the other two files for safety.
I don't know how it got updated to Joomla 4 and I never realized I had "Phoca Mail" installed.
It's weird that nobody thought to ask me if I had installed "Phoca Mail"

Hi, really no idea how can Phoca Email component affect download function on your server. Because another component is not called when using Phoca Download
