Product Finder (Smart Search) in J4

Hi,

I am using Phoca Cart in J4.
I have activated the smart search but it is only finding products when they match exactly. And the extra fields are not searched.
When I use the Phoca Product Search module, I can finde products, but then other content of the website is not found.

Is there a plan to include the Phoca products fields in the Smart Search in J4?

Hi,

we are just at the beginning with smart search and it is not clear how things will continue with it, because it is not clear whether it can even support searching in relational tables (which is the basis for Phoca Cart), etc.

In fact, there are 3 possible ways now:

- Smart search can search columns which are directly associated with the product and it lists the search outcomes in Joomla search list (which is maybe not ideal for eshop)

- Standard search searches all possible information from Phoca Cart and lists the outcomes as product list (items view) and is related to filter (see e.g. here: https://www.phoca.cz/jtd/?c=5-art-photo ... ockettheme - search includes even the button for removing the items from filter). So it fully cooworks with filtering feature



- Ajax search ( https://www.phoca.cz/phocacart-extensio ... jax-search ) offers results and it links directly to the product page



Smart search appears to be the least suitable method, because it is not certain how to really search all the necessary data and we do not have the possibility to influence the output of the search results.

But of course, because of Smart Search users, I will try to find some way how to join other tables and columns to search all needed data (I still didn't find useful guide how to connect smart search with 3pd, which will not explain the basics only but even advanced search methods).
