Is it possible to export an existing Phocagalery 4.4.3 to a new website?

Hi,
yes this is possible. It's the same procedere like a migration.

In short:

• export Phoca Gallery Database tables

• Install Phoca Gallery at the new website

• Copy all files and folders from: /images/phocagallery/ (old site)
  to: /images/phocagallery/ (new site)

• import database tables to Phoca Gallery (new site)

Hi,
Phocagallery 4.4.3 is for Joomla version 3. Of course you can import it to another webspace via FTP plus into a new database. Or with the help of e.g. Akeeba Backup.

But if instead you mean a migration from Joomla 3, PG 4.4.3 to Joomla 4 (PG 4.5.0): then follow this guide:

Beim Import der Phoca-Tabellen
j4_phocagallery sql und
j4_phocagallery_categories sql
kommt folgendes Fehlerbild:

Bei allen anderen, z. B. j4_phocagallery_tags sql, klappte der Import

Hallo, wie es in der Fehlermeldung steht. Es war keine Datenbank ausgewält. Wenn man SQL Query laufen will, muss man zuerst Datenbank auswählen.

j4_phocagallery.sql - this database from the old installation (renamed, stj3_ -> j4_) was exported
left the new database "dbs8553646", here the renamed file is to be imported, this db is open in "phpMyAdmin"

I don't understand - I renamed the old file, but it is recognised with the old beginning "stj3_phocagallery.sql", not as "j4_phocagallery.sql".

Weil das Umbenennen des Dump nicht den Inhalt ändert.
Lade Dir einen guten, kostenlosen Editor wie z.B. Notepad++ herunter.
Öffne damit Deinen Dump und ersetze mit der 'Suchen und Ersetzen' Funktion Deinen alten Tabellen Präfix gegen den neuen. (also: stj3_ gegen: j4_ tauschen)
Das Ganze dann speichern und dann kannst Du Deine Daten importieren.

Allerdings nur, wenn Du Deine neue Datenbank göffnet hast. (Jan hat da völlig recht)
Ich verwende eine andere phpMyAdmin Version als Du, aber auch Deine Version wird eine Statuszeile haben und dort muß angezeigt sein, welche Datenbank geöffnet ist. Wenn keine angezeigt wird, ist auch keine geöffnet.

Super! Vielen Dank, das hat mir den Tag (besser die Tage..) gerettet, auch an Jan!!!!

Musste ausser dem Präfix auch noch den alten db-Namen in den neuen ändern (nur 1x da), dann klappte der Import reibungslos
