Hello,
When I try to install a language file I get two errors:
JInstaller: :Install: Can't find the Joomla XML seetings file.
Can't find the manifest.
Using Joomla 4.2.1 and Guestbook 4.0.1
Do you know what to do?
Regards, Peter

Re: Install language file
Hi,
this means the language package you want to install does not contain a manifest file (e.g. install.xml), or it is corrupt or damaged. If you still want to use the package, you had to copy the two included language files directly into your language folder.
Is it a translation of Phoca Guestbook and if so, which one?
Kind regards,
Benno

Re: Install language file
Hello Jan,
it still doesn't work.
I have unzipped and uploaded the files manually like you suggested.
The language is still English.
Also, I tried the usual stuff: clear the cache, close and re-open the browser. I even tried with Edge, which I never use: nothing.
Still English.
Do you have any more suggestions?
Regards, Peter

Re: Install language file
Hi,
the language pack you are trying to install is made for Joomla! 1.5. It can not work in later Joomla! versions, because at that time the right part of a string was not enclosed in double quotes. But this is necessary in all later Joomla! versions, so that a string is accepted by the system. So use this dutch language pack. Certainly not all strings will be translated, but many will be.
Kind regards,
Benno

Hi,
I'm not sure, but could you try this one:
https://github.com/PhocaCz/PhocaGuestbo ... -3.0.2.zip
It's also an old one but newer than the other.
Kind regards
Christine

Re: Install language file
Hi Benno and Christine,
YEAH, now it is working.
Because there was no icon like J1.5 behind the file name in the downloadsection, like in the J2.5 and J.3 I assumed it was for J4.
My bad. Sorry.
Regards, Peter
