Question about open download in a new tab

Just a quick update: making it a direct link doesn't work for me either. I've given up and de-installed the component as it proved to be mostly useless for what I had in mind. I solved the problem by using orinary links to my downloadables and these links can be made to do whatever I want them to.

If you set direct link in Phoca Download, then it is in fact "ordinary link" and has nothing to do with Phoca Download system. The link goes directly the to the file on the server without any involvement of Phoca Download.

I have the same issue:

If I use the PD Plugin I can add following parameter: target=b
{phocadownload view=file|id=1234|text=File Title|target=b}

This will ad _blank to the href tag.

But if I list the Downloads by using a menu link of type "List PD categories", then _blank does not get added to the download links.
It would be great to have such parameter in the global options, that would allow to select between _blank and _self.

Hi, the target is only a part of the plugin so this needs to be customized in the code for the component
