Ordering of images or category entries

I've noticed a rather annoying behaviour when sorting the image or category entries manually.

First of all, the scrolling of the list of entries would be highly appreciated when moving the selected item beyond the displayed entries. The way it is now, I have to drop the item, scroll the list, pick up and move the item again and so forth. In larger lists, that can be very tedious.

When I activate the manual ordering with the two little black arrows and the three black dots appear on the left hand side and I move around an item, the new position isn't saved. When I refresh the front end, nothing has changed. A refresh of the backend page brings a completely chaotic result on the frontend. The only thing that works is:
- Move around one item
- Refresh the page: all items are completely mixed up randomly
- Order the items
Is this supposed to work like this?

Hi, which version of Phoca Gallery do you use?

The ordering in Joomla 4 is not optimal, this is why I made this plugin:

Hi, a post more or less on the same topic, I believe. I have added 3 new categories to my website (2023, 2022 and 2021) and I would like them to appear in this order (descending). But since they are the last added they appear at the end (after 2011, each category represents a year) and I haven't found the way to change the order. I am working with Phoca 4.2.2 and Joomla 3.5.1. I haven't found something like "Parameters" or "Options" anywhere on my Phoca Control Panel. I have also tried by Categories/Ordering, but I can't do anything. I must say I am not a specialist. Changing the order, see:


Go to categories, use arrow and touch the three points and move them.

Also PG you have outdated version.
You should also think about migrating to Joomla 4.

Thank you very much for your advice! I see that I should upgrade Joomla, I'll try to do it and I hope there's not too many risks (to lose the way the site appear!).
