URLs broken from checkout page user

I have an issue where url's like this just go to the home page. I have a standard htaccess file.

site.com/component/users/remind?Itemid=101
site.com/component/phocacart/checkout?Itemid=101

If I create a menu item for the users then the menu item works in the case of the first one. Not sure if this is a phoca cart issue or Joomla yet. Both these links come from within Phoca Cart views.

Hi, if you want to have SEF links, you need to create menu links for different parts (phoca cart, users, ...)

It must be my Joomla is somehow broken as tag item does the same thing. Without a menu item it directs to home page. Also tested disabling phoca cart and the issue persists.
site.com/component/tags/tag/information - this is from a tag and redirects to home page.

Fixed by creating a menu item for tags, strange that my site needs it.
