I think I may have found the reason why good payments dont change the status of my orders to complete.
Paypal sends this, to say that a payment is successful or not.
site.com/index.php?option=com_phocacart&view=response&task=response.paymentnotify&type=paypal_standard&pid=2&tmpl=component
And this is the error.
cURL error: [60] SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate, User: Anonymous
If you google this it seems that there is some issue with the SSL.
Has anyone had this themselves? I have googled it and am talking to the host but as it's a shared server wonder if anything will get done at all.
Thanks.

Re: Paypal error log
Thanks Jan, will try that. I run through cloudflare and there were also some edge settings that the hosting told me could have been the problem. So let's see how the next order goes.

Re: Paypal error log
This is no longer a problem, have had an order through and the status went to complete directly. I did not get the email and suspect the customer also did not. I have to go and ask them. I will add this as a separate issue in the forum.

Re: Paypal error log
I found why my emails were not sending, that the status of complete and confirmed are different (of course) and that I had my emails set in confirmed. My PayPal payment seems to skip the confirmed and goes straight to complete. So this is manageable. TY
