Bug in Beta37 - categories disappeared

Beta37 contains a bug. After the installation the section "categories" do not show entries anymore. If I edit a product, the category form field disappeared. Do I have to make some database update? I only updated the files via Joomla updater.

P.S. If I try to create some new categories it will fail because - in category edit page - the category type field is empty - not configurable.
