Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to disable the "download picture" function.
Please see: https://www.pe1pqx.eu/home/bloggen/een-ballonvaart
At the bottom I have a few pictures from the balloon trip, whan a visitor clicks one picture they are allowed to download that picture.
I'd like to see a possibility to disable this, or (when already possible) how I do this.
Thanks!

Re: Disable download function
Hi,
no, unfortunately that won't work. All images that are visible on the web can also be downloaded. The last option is always the screenshot. The only sensible way to protect images is a watermark that is integrated as large as possible in the center of the image (but even this can be circumvented if the user knows in which directory the original images are, unfortunately). Everything else is nonsense. About 15 years ago, there were plugins that switched off the right-click, but that was also nonsense in the end, because you could bypass them by switching off JS in the browser...
Kind regards,
Benno

Re: Disable download function
As a hobby-photographer I like to make it as challenging/difficult as possible...
But I do understand your explanation.

Hi,
like you, I am an amateur photographer. So far I have not found any better protection than the watermark and have not found any "stolen" photos from my site on the net in many years. So I assume that this offers some protection against illegal use. Toi, Toi, Toi, three knocks on wood...
Kind regards,
Benno

Re: Disable download function
My photo-hobby is standing still at the moment, lack of inspiration and other hobbies (HAM-radio, PE1PQX) asking my free time also.
Watermarking is one way, but (I feel) disabling the download feature is an other.
Thanks anyway!!
