I am looking for a good solution for a kind of “travel diary”. There the course of a journey should then be a) with a map and then b) with areas. The reports are then uploaded daily or every few days. There are then a few pictures and also videos of the place visited.
Are there already examples that you can use for orientation?
Which template can be used for this?

Re: Looking for a Traverls-Diary-Solution
Hi Benno,
Thank You for your tip.
Yes, that's going in the right direction. But I'm missing a bit more text to accompany the pictures and I'd also like to add a few videos about visiting a place. More like Findpeguins
https://imgur.com/a/6fbwZGJ
or a post in which modules are then placed that show several images, and possibly another module that embeds video in posts.

Hi,
Phoca Gallery component only supports YouTube videos.

You can add a description to each individual Phoca Gallery imageBut I'm missing a bit more text to accompany the pictures and I'd also like to add a few videos about visiting a place.

hm, ok, not ideal with the videos, but it's something I can live with.
But then you could process thubnails from the videos clickable in the post?

Hi,
See example images:
Backend: Assign a YouTube video to an existing image.

Frontend: Select the appropriate category in the frontend and click on the thumbnail.

Frontend: The YouTube video is then played in the detailed view.

Kind regards,
Benno
The workflow is different, you assign a YouTube video to an existing image. But of course you can have taken a screenshot of this video beforehand and then assign it to the video as an image in this Phoca Gallery category. But then you could process thubnails from the videos clickable in the post?

Re: Looking for a Traverls-Diary-Solution
The point here is rather to get a similar version of FindPeguins.
The travel photo page mentioned is OK, but I would first display a MAP of the region from which the following photos originate. Then also in the list 1 to 2 videos.
I have understood that these must then be stored on YT.
But the display should be similar to the image preview, for the map as well as for the videos.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi,
In my opinion, you will not be able to achieve more similarity than here with the category view of the Phoca Gallery component. Whereby the map is not Phoca Gallery at all but the Content Plugin of Phoca Maps.
Kind regards,
Benno

I really like it. Nice thing about the map. It would be even cooler if you could attach the links to the albums to the pins.

Hi,
You can insert both, links and images in the description field of Phoca Maps markers. You can therefore link to a Phoca Gallery category either via a link or via a link in an image using an absolute path:

Kind regards,
Benno
