How to install a template manually

Post by innfreds »

Hi,

I am trying to install a new template for my gallery, but some obscur file permissions problems, I am unable to upload it.
Is there is a paper that explain which folders under "components" that needs to be CHMODed in 777 ?
Is there is a way to manually install Template by manually copying files and by amending the database if needed

Thanks for your help

BR

Hi, I think, this should be a question on joomla.org forum as template installation is a joomla framework process

- first try to enable ftp layer
- if not enbaled you need to have same ownership as other folders on your site are
- you need to set 777 for e.g. tmp folder, templates folder (with subfolders) but 777 is not recommended (because of security reasons so it is better to enable ftp layer)

I gues you should not install via joomla installer. Try it with phoca component installer :)
