[Phoca Font] Loading some deafult font instead of phoca font

Post by deterjeg1 »

anybody here to help little newb?

so there you go:
i installed phoca font and first tired using phoca font deafault fonts (tried all of them). for some reasons though, the font on the page instead of orginal trebuchet doesn't turn to dommestic manners or any of them but stranegly enough, it turns to some serif font (porbaably some very default times or so). :?

this is what i have done up to now searching for solution:
1. i checked the plugin - yes, i have enabled it
2. i checked other browsers, nope, in ie, mozilla, opera - all the same
3. i commented out all the font definitions in my template css in case ANYTHING woould overrwrite anything - nope, also no luck
4. some other things that didn't have much sense

i'm desperate - up to i have spend more than a day on it, and i have no clue... :x

anybody help?

additional info:

1. i have some other components installed, eg joomfish... dunno, can this go in any conflict?
2. the template i'm using is modified default joomla beez template
3. according to firebug, it seems that font-family atrribute is loaded okiej (font-family:"Domestic Manners",serif, arial, helvetica;) - but somehow the page doesn't grasp Dommestic Manners, but the serif default... why is that so?

thanx for any ideas about it...

Hi, sometimes it can happen, that some other extension will define font for some parts of the site after all css definitions.

Can I see your site? Did you try to disable some other styles e.g. with help of some firebug or web developer in your browser? Did you check if there is no other defintion of font which is displayed in html after the Phoca Font definition?

wow, i'm thrilled, the phoca hero is answering my post - thank you jan.

sure, there you go, i'll leave it online until you have a look at it

http://poradniaremedio.pl/

only, please don't run away screaming, since up to know i've spent my time mainly wondering about phoca font, so it's kinda frighteningly messy in there, for the time being, and there's hardly any contents, anyway.

yes, i've tried disabling other styles, but no, (as far as i can check) it's not the case, i think.

BUT

SHERLOCK STILL LOOKING FOR SOLUTION:
firebug told me something like this << unrecognized rule "at" or an error of "at" rule '@font-face' >>
so it seems that it's not that anything is overwriting anything, but that it crashes at searching for "Domestic Manners" and then it goes to "serif" (that's why i got it) which is the next one applied by phoca font.... eee... maybe.... at least that how i reason

this must be sometning really silly

i'm sorry for taking your time - if you give me some clue, i'll go on searching myself.and as soon i am wise enough to help anybody here, i'll try to do so :) ....

thnak you!

Hi, I see the correct font in

- Firefox 3.5.5 (you need at least 3.5)
- IE
In chrome it is not supported (no idea why when webkit support this)
- Opera - seem like Opera stable works other then Opera beta (version 10) and the apostrophes needs to be added, I will change it so it will work in Opera 10 stable
