Hi, I upgraded to the last version (used the installer and selected upgrade option) and the parameters were changed to the default. The obvious when you upgrade would be that they would keep the old values.
After the upgrade a menu I had in phoca gallery category view stopped working producing 404 errors (joomla SEF enabled) and had to reselect the category view for it to work.
Finally I had manually changed some of the popup icons of the old version and they got rewritten during the update. The last part I understand might be a bit difficult to solve but at least a warning of what an upgrade would do should be there.
I expected the upgrade to just upgrade changed components (php files mostly) not just copy over everything.

The upgrade method in Joomla! is still in development, so something doesn't work as it should work...
404 - see the manual, just save the menu link...
icons - yes while upgrading new files will be copied, so the theme must be reinstalled too (old images backuped), there is no other way to upgrade in Joomla! yet, which will be so easy and quick ...
