I have Joomla running on two different sites both hosted by godaddy & am running 1.1.15
installed
com_phocagallery_v2.6.2
mod_phocagallery_image_v2.6.2
plg_content_phocagallery_slideshow_v2.6.2
plg_editors-xtd_phocagallery_v2.6.0
(phocadownload was installed at same time as gallery, but I cannot recall using download. It has not been removed.)
Installed same code on two sites. Each site originally worked the same and so far as I can tell, correctly.
URL to site that fails http://bmrc.info/joomla/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=89
Test 'Trainshow 2009' it is example of no buttons
URL to site that works http://joe-daddy.com/joomla/
I use
My main site now malfunctions with an array of symptoms. Most important one is
Code is {phocagallery view=category|categoryid=22|limitstart=0|limitcount=0|displaybuttons=1}
Result images displayed but when click an image there are no slideshow buttons
Actions before problem identified
Installed Akeeba backup and made several backups, no attempt to do any restore
Actions after problem identified in this order
uninstalled & reinstalled phocagallery (items listed above) - only change was to loose all images etc
uninstalled Akeeba backup - no apparent change
Ensured options displaybuttons = 1
How do I recover from this?
Other phoca gallery issues but will save them until I resolve these two issues which seem quite related.
Only anomaly noticed during the entire proces is this message when attempting to remove and reinstall
plg_editors-xtd_phocagallery_v2.6.0 (It reinstalls with no apparent error)
It was not possible to delete the selected file.: 'phocagallery.xml'

Re: Image slideshow buttons disappeared
Hi, you should check the itemid first.
check if the settings of itemid = 89 is OK, if it includes the button links if it includes large popup to display the buttons (see menu link parameter components of menu link 89)

Thanks for responding. I need some basic help, as I am not able to figure out what it its you are wanting me to check. I cannot find an 'itemid' in the parameters.

Re: Image slideshow buttons disappeared
Itemid is an ID of menu link (which you can find in menu manager). In menu link (phoca gallery) you can find parameters.

Re: Image slideshow buttons disappeared
Jan,
Thanks for the informative links to the documentation. Read and understood much of it. Yes, Itemid was 89.
Here is a better link to the failure I am having. I cannot display the slide show buttons. I've set the parms in both the global and the component parms as well as explicitly including them in the phocagallery statement, still no buttons on this site. ??
http://bmrc.info/joomla/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=96
The link executes this code:
{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=22|limitstart=0|limitcount=0|detail=0|displaybuttons=1|displaydescription=1|displayimgrating=1}
The buttons I am referring to are in the image below which are 'popped' up whenever you click on a picture in teh matrix below the slideshow. The code used to display that matrix of images is {phocagallery view=category|categoryid=2|limitstart=0|limitcount=0} which is a simpler form of that used above.

Hi, try to remove the numbers from alias names (categories, images), maybe there is some problem too.

I did a test on one set of pictures removing all numbers and still had the identical failure of no buttons. However, removing numbers from file and category names is not acceptable. The working system has numbers all over the place and it works.

I 'removed' the numbers from another set of pictures. Also noted that IF a number is in the directory, I was unable to set the limitstart to any number, the pull down dialog box is distorted and no number is in the box. After renaming without numerics, it displayed correctly however, I still get no buttons when I click on a picture.
URL of failure example.

Thank you for your diligence and tenacity with me.
As for permissions, all Joomla! sections, categories set to public as well as Phoca Gallery categories set to public. I am not finding a permission at the image level. Regardless, when one clicks on an image in the gallery, a permissions screen pops up asking for one to log in to see the detailed image. Looked at everything I can find on this, all 'relevant' are set to public.
As for ID 87 ending with Front Page, no settings seem improper and Front page appears correct.
Also I cannot figure out how to 'rate' and add descriptions to pictures. A pointer to a tutorial or thread on this would be helpful.
Thanks again for your help.
