Image slideshow buttons disappeared

I am rebuilding the website in a new directory and database. Things seem to be working better, have not imported everything but I do have an observation.

SOme of the pictures are 'too big' and cover up the buttons. If I reduce the size of the pictures the buttons appear. Seems logical, however some pictures at 1280X1024 show the buttons while other times an 800X600 does not work until I reduce the size to 640 X 480.

Are their rules for the size of the picture to be uploaded? On my Joe-daddy.com site, the buttons work universally regardless of size.

On the original site, the situation has deteriorated. now I get an error when I click on a picture to see details.
500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: phocagallery,html,phocagalleryView
Interesting, that COOLIRIS seems to work fine.

Hi, try to check your URL settings (enabling, disabling SEF).

The thumbnails size is only by servers GD and memory limited

As I was getting no where resolving the original problem where the slide show buttons disappeared, and things were getting steadily worse with other symptoms listed above I decided to blow away the installation and start over. What ever the problme was, it was in the database itself as the problem initially moved to the new site when I imported the database, if Phocagallery was already installed. I blew away the joomla installation and reinstalled only joomla, imported the database then installed Phocagallery and everything worked fine.

Certainly I tried a number of times to uninstall and reinstall Phocagallery to no avail. I think I still have the corrupt database if you are at all interested, I could get it to you.

I did have another occurance of the 'disappearing' slildeshow buttons, which turned to be a picture folder where the 'thumbs' folder had been copied from the previous installation. I deleted the Thumbs and readded the folder and the problem was resolved. I suppose the original problem could have been happening because 'all' the thumbs folders were corrupt, but that seems unlikely.

Anyway, I think the problem is resoved and I've not seen a recurrence of the 500 error since the reinstall.
