OK. I will try to generate the thumbnails with a smaller picture, and replace them manually once they are generated.

Yes, as you wrote.... there can be more problems...

If GD library doesn't say, it doesn't have memory for creating thumbnails (Fatal error), there is no problem with memory...

but the resolution, som images (e.g. I can open on my computer, but my php gd library cannot work with them), maybe the dimension can be the problem too...

Hello,
I also met the problem.

The weight is not in question but the size of imported images.
With IMG in 1024 * 768 is good, in 1600 * 1200, for example, the error appears. (Regardless of weight)

I did tests with FTP or with the manager and the same thing.

Memory_limit is my 40M (1 & 1 hosting base) so it does not come from the ...

I tried reinstalling without success ...

Voila, hoping to help you.

Hi, it is understandable ... but the problem is, I don't know the answer why some servers (or GD libraries) have this problem with resolution... On my test servers (XP-PHP5,SUSE-PHP5,SUSE-PHP4,FreeBSD-PHP5) works e.g. 3072x2304 (yesterday I have added some images from Alps to my demo site) ...

Maybe try to change the PHP version, but I think there should not be a problem ... Phoca Gallery uses GD library to create the thumbnails but I don't really know what can be wrong while thumbnails creating by GD ...

Hi all,S

Post by Tiko »

Hi all,

Same trouble here with Joomla! 1.5.0 version and Phoca 1.7.1.

First of all, I'm unable to upload the french version:
Warning: file_put_contents() failed to open stream: Permission denied in /homepages/29/d209415814/htdocs/viking/libraries/joomla/utilities/compat/php50x.php on line 66
Unable to write enrty ....

Never mind, I used to work in english.
I upload several pictures (640 px X 420 px) and after nearly 20 pictures, I have the fatal 500 error .....
I've tried to add them 5 by 5, same trouble ....
uninstall and reinstall : same trouble ....

Can't understand where is the problem.

If you need more informations, do not hesitate to ask me.

Best regards,
Tiko

Picture size seems to be the reason of this error.

One of mine wasn't 641 x 420 but 1602 x 1050 ....I just resize it and now everything is perfect.

I upload all the picture in the same time without 500 error.

Best regards,
Tiko
