I am trying to install phocagallery on a hosted joomla 1.5rc3 site (siteground). When I try to upload and install, i get the following error. Other components install ok.
Upload component - Upload Failed
ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
[ Continue ... ]
Upload component - Failed
Installation file not found:
I've checked permissions, the xml file and ensured that the package is zipped with the xml immediately available. I tried FTP to the host install directory and install from there, same error.
I must be missing something. Installing it on a localhost server works fine. What is going on and what am i missing.
TIA
Upload failed - Installation file not found ?

If Siteground is no
If Siteground is no good, which hosting service provies the best support for joomla. They were easy to use because the installation was so straight forward. To move to another would be a pain.
Thanks for the response.

It is intersting tho
It is intersting though. that phocagallery is the only one I cannot get to load on the server. Maybe there is a php library missing or something.
Joomla 1.5 stable release is due soon I believe and I also believe that it will be implemented quickly on the host servers. Beats me trying to maintain it anyway - now that would be unstable

We have had a pretty
We have had a pretty good look at the install process for components and in particular phocagallery versus other component installs. We tried to analyize 'what is put where, and when' using ftp and the joomla installer. We believe that you might need to look at the phocagallery install zip V1.2 carefully.
We are not faimilar with php, but it maybe that something is misspelled or out of sequence with the phocagallery install. It consistently fails to upload and install suggesting that it canot find the install file. We've tried it on two different joomla installations without success. It is the only component that fails to install. I hope to use it, so i hope we can find a solution . If we get anywhere, we'll post
