By trying to generate a PDF with Phoca PDF I receive an error 500 after clicking the PDF-icon. The adress then displayed in the adress-line of the browser looks somehow strange, e.g.: index.php?view=article&catid=2%3Aifnm&id=6%3Aifnm&format=phocapdf&option=com_content&Itemid=10
"ifnm" is the domain-name. What does this string do in the adress of the pdf???
Please help!
Willi

Re: Error 500
In most cases with PhocaPDF the error is caused by the server timeout. This can mean you either have something incorrect in your phocaPDF content plugin settings (which brokes the PDF generating process), or have something wrong with your server configuration, or server timeout limit is not enought for your PDF (e.i. it's too big).
The problems can also be caused by too big images in the article.
The link part seems not to be a phocaPDF infuence, but it seems to be the alias of the article, which makes more sense when you use SEF links in joomla. Check the alias.

Re: Error 500
Can the problem possibly be caused because phoca pdf is not able to write the pdf?? How must the rights be set that phoca can write the data?

Re: Error 500
As far as I know, phocaPDF doesn't write the PDF anywhere except the stream.
So it cannot be caused by permissions.
But check this folder: administrator/components/com_phocapdf/assets/tcpdf/cache

Re: Error 500
I don't know. Experiment. But as I told before, it seems not to be a permission problem at all.
Try to install a fresh Joomla + PhocaPDF and check how it works to find out if it's your joomla configuration problem.

Re: Error 500
Hm, I cannot reinstall Joomla each time when a component doesn't work properly. This can only be the "ultima ratio".

Re: Error 500
Oh oh oh... I solved the "problem" myself. After uploading the component I ignored the "install"-Button and continued without clicking it. Shame on me!!!
