creating a PDF gallery

can i display PDFs in a modal popup format?
i have several PDF books which would work really nicely if i could layout and display them the same way as my other galleries (photo and video).
consistency and seamless flow is my goal.

Hi, for now, I think, there is no PDF component to display plugins in PDF

hmmm.

so can i make my gallery thumbs link to the PDF files so they download/open in adobe reader (or whatever)?
(it would be really nice to keep the 'gallery look/feel', but just have the thumbs be links to the PDFs and not open a popup viewer...)

Hi, you can use external link, try to see:

https://www.phoca.cz/joomla-templates

Demo and Download are external links, there you can set e.g. link to your PDF.

i had missed that bit of the parameter options until you mentioned them.
the look is not quite as elegant as i was going for, but hey... it WORKS.
