only thumbnail - without any border?

how can i get the view of the thumbnails without any borders? they take to much space.

just add the same color for border and background in parameters... or change it in css/html code

so the borders are invisible but they use the space ...
i use the plugin .. so in an article i only want to see the medium-thumb ... something like border=1 or 0 so that there will only be the pic wihout so much empty space around. (sorry for my bad english)
